“But I don’t like things they way they are supposed to be. No Architect of Change does. We challenge what is and imagine what can be. But we also have the courage to move forward.” — Maria Shriver
Bridges Together is committed to showcasing intergenerational work in Massachusetts and uniting our voices.
To that end, Bridges Together regularly convenes a group of individuals dedicated to promoting intergenerational ideals both on a local and statewide level. Members include leaders in aging services, education, social services as well as concerned citizens.
The group’s first meeting resulted in a list of recommendations submitted to the Executive Office of Elder Affairs of ways that it can promote intergenerational policy at a state level.
MIC’s second meeting kicked off Bridges Together’s planning and celebration of Intergenerational Awareness Month, recognized every September. MIC members planned events within their own communities, and Bridges Together helped publicize and promote these events. Bridges Together planned a Grand Family Faire to celebrate Intergenerational Awareness Month.
