In Bridges: So Smart (formerly known as “Gardner’s Garden), middle-school children and seniors have fun getting to know one another as they share about their lives and work on interesting projects together. Participants reflect on nature as they explore Howard Gardner’s “How We Are Smart” Multiple Intelligence Theory.
Gardner’s Theory and nature come alive through:
- Hands-on art, music and science projects
- Lively discussions
- A variety of outdoor activities including a field trip to a local farm
Session topics include:
- Meet Scientist Gardner
- How are you smart?
- Trees! (with a tree-planting ceremony)
- Harvest Celebration
Through this program, each person – both old and young – will discover how he or she is smart!
