Start Planning Now: September is Intergenerational Month!

You may think of September as “back to school” time, but at Bridges Together, we know September as Intergenerational Month!

Intergenerational Month is a global event celebrating the many benefits of relationships between adults aged 60+ and young people. Beginning in 2016, Bridges Together spearheaded the recognition and celebration of this event in Massachusetts, including getting a proclamation signed by Governor Charlie Baker. Earlier this year, the organization Intergeneration Month – the original “founder” of IG Month – passed the torch to Bridges Together, and we will now oversee and promote this special month throughout the country.

Here’s what this means for you:

If you:

·         Work in a school or another youth setting

·         Work with older adults

·         Are a local leader such as a librarian or another community employee or volunteer…

YOU can plan and host an Intergenerational Month event!

Bridges Together has made this part easy. We have a foolproof step-by-step “recipe” for creating a successful intergenerational event and you can find a sample template that you can fill in here.
