“We Couldn’t Have Done it Without Your Guidance & Support.” From the Field: Community Intergenerational Leadership Team Presentations

Before: A group of community members, ready to learn the nuts and bolts of a strong IG program. After: A successful IG project!

“People are still talking about this event and how special it was! We couldn’t have done it without your guidance and support.” — a Community Intergenerational Leadership Team member

One way that Bridges Together executes its mission of empowering leaders to connect generations is through Community Intergenerational Leadership Teams. This past year, BT trained five communities (Ashland, Barnstable, Encore Boston Gen2Gen, South Hadley and West Boylston) that created intergenerational teams, comprised of representatives from at least five organizations to design, implement and evaluate an intergenerational initiative specific to their communities.

(Take a look at some recent news articles to get a glimpse of the different types of projects that the Community IG Leadership Teams have implemented.)

Part of this undertaking is the creation of post-program slideshows to illustrate how Bridges Together’s intergenerational expertise helped transform the teams’ ideas into successful community-wide efforts. Click here to see South Hadley’s presentation, here for Ashland’s presentation and here for West Boylston’s presentation.

In addition, take a moment to watch this video of Barnstable’s intergenerational tea, an outgrowth of the community’s training with Bridges Together.
