A Bright Idea: Statewide Intergenerational Strategies Summit

bright ideaWe are grateful to be partnering with the Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging to host a Statewide Intergenerational (IG) Strategies Summit on Thursday, February 4. Last year Secretary of Elder Affairs Alice Bonner approached Bridges Together’s Executive Director Andrea J. Fonte Weaver about presenting her with a ‘Top Ten’ list of ways that the Executive Office of Elder Affairs can promote intergenerational programs at the state level. We’ve been talking and thinking since then and are thrilled that other leaders in the field will be joining us to ensure that the list we hand over to Secretary Bonner is as robust and thorough as possible.

The morning will follow a World Cafe format of working in small groups to make suggestions and then take the best ideas to the entire group. If you are interested in joining this brainstorming session, please let us know. If you are unable to join us but are still interested in this topic, we welcome your thoughts via email or phone. In addition, we’ve compiled a list of resources about Aging and IG Initiatives on our website.

Here’s to a fantastic summit full of innovative ideas for promoting intergenerational programs!
