The Christian Science Monitor recently highlighted a Kalamazoo, Michigan senior citizen named Dale Anderson who is showing young offenders a “path to the sweet life.” Anderson’s Confections With Convictions candy shop offers the citizens of Kalamazoo a variety of sophisticated chocolate creations to satisfy their cravings while providing young offenders with the opportunity to learn a deliciously sweet trade– namely, that of a chocolatier. In addition to the art of chocolate making, Mr. Anderson teaches work habits that should last his young offenders a lifetime: showing up on time, being dependable, and participating as a team player, for example.
