An intergenerational trip to the art museum

This week, I had the distinct pleasure of leading a Coffee Connection at The Fitchburg Art Museum! What a treasure this museum is – filled with engaging exhibits and hands-on activities for people of all ages.

Coffee Connections provide an opportunity for people interested in or working in intergenerational programming to come together, meet one another, share ideas, ask questions and learn. Each get-together also has a specific focus. Today’s was on taking an intergenerational trip to the art museum! Check out these ideas in our latest programming page. Whether a family trip or a senior center/organization-sponsored outing for members and their families, there are plenty of ideas to make the trip more enjoyable and engaging.

As an intergenerational specialist, I treasure getting to know so many people and helping to facilitate conversations with staff and volunteers of different organizations. I’m always amazed at the connections that are made, and am warmed by the collaboration that often results. It is exciting to be a companion to people on this intergenerational journey, whether they are starting out (“What exactly does intergenerational mean – it seems like such a nebulous term?”) or whether they have been running these programs for many years and have something to teach me!

I hope that you will join us for an upcoming Coffee Connection near you, an online Empower Hour webinar,  or perhaps attend a Plan Your Intergenerational Program FREE full-day workshop where we will create a plan for YOUR community!
