Bridges Together program and research to be featured at GSA meeting

Edward Thompson, Ph.D., professor emeritus from College of the Holy Cross, will present a reseach poster about Bridges Together at the Gerontological Society of America’s (GSA) 2014 Annual Scientific Meeting, which will be held in Washington, DC, from November 5-9.

The poster presentation is titled “Making Connections: The Possible Legacy of an Intergenerational Program” and is focused on why community leaders should build relationships between youth and older adults. Children’s experience as 4th graders in an intergenerational program appears to have a legacy effect. As high schoolers, they hold more positive images of aging than the comparison group of students who did not participate in an intergenerational program.
