Bridges Together to Pilot New Program in Sudbury

Do you know a child who enjoys spending time with grandparents or older adults? How about one who likes book and art? Or perhaps a child who can’t wait to do the Bridges program?

Well, we have the perfect opportunity for them! The Goodnow Library in Sudbury, MA is piloting a new Bridges program, entitled Bridges: Our Stories, for children in grades kindergarten through second grade.  The sessions will be on Thursdays from Feb. 27 – April 3 from 4 – 5:15 PM.

Following the successful Bridges Together formula, pairs of volunteers will work alongside the children in small groups. To prepare for each session, children will have the opportunity to interview their grandparents or their parents about their grandparents’ experience.

Together, the children and volunteers will enjoy a timeless book, share about their own stories and create a piece of art. There will also be a fun game each week. The sessions will be led by staff from the Goodnow and Bridges Together.
