One of the special things about the intergenerational field is that it touches upon so many disciplines. Whether it be applied in education, psychology or the arts, the idea of “intergenerational,” at its core, revolves around relationships and people.
Thanks to a grant from the Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging (MCOA), Bridges Together has been able to offer professional development opportunities across the state to help facilitate these relationships in participants’ respective fields. (Take a look here and see if we’ll be near you. Remember, you don’t need to live in Massachusetts to participate in a webinar!) At these events, we’ve met and worked with a wide array of people, including librarians and dancers as well as teachers and senior-center leaders.
We love this diversity in the intergenerational field and are therefore happy to announce that our full-day workshop – “Ins and Outs of Planning Your Intergenerational Program” – was recently approved by the National Association of Social Workers for five Social Work Continuing Education hours for re-licensure. (The cost is $25.) Are you a social worker looking to fulfill CEUs? Read more about the workshop here, register here – and then join us as we give you the tools to implement an IG program in your workplace!
