On Tuesday, November 28, Bridges Together Founder and Executive Director Andrea J. Fonte Weaver will be a panelist at the Massachusetts Gerontology Association’s Fall Policy Forum. We are thrilled that the topic for this forum is “Massachusetts for All Ages: Building Community Across Generations.”
The MGA Forum brings together researchers, practitioners, policy makers, educators, students and community members to create dialogue on critical issues related to aging. In this particular forum, panelists will discuss how intergenerational connections can be utilized to bolster the “age-friendly” movement. On the immediate and practical side, the event will serve as an opportunity for people in the “intergenerational world” to meet each other and learn how to amplify the importance of this work.
Opening comments will be delivered by Massachusetts Senator Barbara A. L’Italien and Judy Cockerton of the Treehouse Foundation. In addition to Andrea, other panelists include:
- Doug Dickson (Gen2Gen/Encore Boston Network)
- Noelle Marcus (nesterly)
- Lillyana Hebbert (FriendshipWorks)
- Nina Silverstein (UMass Boston)
The panel will be moderated by Joann Montepare of Lasell College.
The Bridges Together staff is looking forward to attending this event and learning more about how “intergenerational” can be applied in policy. If you are interested in registering, click here.
