Read All About It: September is Intergenerational Awareness Month

IGAM logo AWSSeptember is Intergenerational Awareness Month, and Bridges Together is encouraging communities throughout Massachusetts to plan events to unite the generations. (We’re planning our own event — a Grand Family Faire on September 18.) We’ve been compiling Recipes for Intergenerational Success (RIS) to help you along — take a look!

For our latest Recipe for Intergenerational Success, we asked Nori Morganstein, Youth Services Librarian and Assistant Director at the Brewster Ladies’ Library, to compile a list of top-ten books with intergenerational themes for each reading level.

Nori is passionate about intergenerational engagement and helped to start Project READ in her community.  In addition to Nori’s list, we have another RIS about intergenerational activities at the library.

Every community — whether it’s a school or a town — has a library! Plan your own Intergenerational Awareness Month event using one. Let us know what you have planned so we can add it to our event calendar!

Thank you, again, to Nori Morganstein of the Brewster Ladies’ Library for this wonderful resource.
