Families and older adults in and near Sudbury, MA: Join us in November for a special Bridges Together program at the Goodnow Library that will explore family stories through classic children’s books and art. Older adults are invited to bring a grandchild or young friend… or come alone and make some new ones!
The program, which includes readings and discussions about family trees as well as an art project, is built to include and engage all children, regardless of specific family circumstances. Children who are not paired with their own grandparents will be paired with older adults from the community. We’ll work in small groups of about 5 children and 2 senior volunteers.
Worksheets featuring traditional family trees as well as “trees of love” will be sent home ahead of time. The children will be encouraged to pose questions to a grandparent, parent, or other adult in his/her “circle of love.”
