What do Jury Duty and Bridges Together Have in Common?

img_0158It all started with jury duty…

A few weeks ago, Bridges Together’s Executive Director Andrea and IG Facilitator Julie were in Arlington, MA at Dallin Elementary School, training a teacher, senior center staff and a parent coordinator on Bridges: Growing Together, which will be implemented in the 5th grade.

Bridges Together’s journey to Arlington is an interesting one: Dallin’s parent coordinator first learned of Bridges when she met a volunteer from Burlington in JURY DUTY! (See, you never know where your civic duty will take you.) In addition, two of the senior staff had been at a training that Andrea led a year ago. (Take a look at this video showcasing the program in one of Burlington’s classrooms as well as this video showing the power of Bridges. You can see how someone would be smitten!)
